At Foyle Women’s information Network, we are committed to eliminating violence against women and girls in all its forms. Our Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (EVAWG) Awareness Programme is a powerful, six-week initiative designed to raise awareness, build understanding, and support safer communities across Derry/Londonderry and Strabane District.
What We Cover:
- Recognise common myths and misconceptions about abuse and violence against women and girls.
- Develop the confidence to spot the signs that someone may be experiencing abuse or controlling behaviour, and how to support them.
- Learn how abuse and violence can impact children, particularly within the home.
- Explore how abuse shows up in digital spaces and the influence of social media, modern language, and online relationships.
- Hear directly from guest speakers about their lived-in experiences, and from the PSNI about the reporting process and support available.
What participants have said:
- “Could have listened for hours. It was so interesting.”
- “Learned things I didn’t know existed. Great programme!”
- “I would be more informed now of what to do.”
- “I learned a lot. Hopefully I will not make the same choices again.”
