WOMEN’STEC wants to extend a big thank you to the team at Farrans Construction for their fantastic support and collaboration on a recent project with St Patrick’s Primary School, Hilltown.
Together, we worked with a brilliant group of students as part of our Promoting Opportunities Programme, #NotJustForBoys. They rolled up their sleeves and got involved in building beautiful wooden planters—just in time for the summer sunshine. This hands-on activity gave pupils the chance to learn new skills, work as a team, and take pride in creating something lasting for their school.
The #NotJustForBoys programme, aims to challenge gender misconceptions in the trades and encourage females to explore career opportunities in sectors traditionally dominated by men.
We’re so grateful to Farrans for their continued support as #NotJustForBoysChampions and for showing how impactful community partnerships can be.
Our #NotJustForBoys Programme Coordinator, Claire King said, “It was absolutely fantastic to see the pupils so engaged and hands-on throughout the project. They loved every minute—from picking up the tools to planting the final flowers. Collaborating with Farrans made it all possible, and the results speak for themselves. The planters look amazing, and the sense of pride from the students is something really special.”
