WOMEN’STEC is delighted to announce that our #NotJustForBoys (#NJFB) programme has been featured on BBC Children in Need, highlighting the impact of our work in empowering girls and young women to explore careers in construction, trades, and non-traditional sectors.
The TV segment showcased participants Clodagh and Orlaith sharing their experiences, confidence-building moments, and hands-on learning in as part of the #NotJustForBoys Programme. Being recognised by BBC Children in Need is an incredible honour and a testament to the transformative effect the programme has on girls across Northern Ireland.
Claire King, Programme Coordinator for #NJFB, said:
“We are absolutely thrilled to see the #NJFB programme featured on BBC Children in Need. This recognition means so much to our team and, more importantly, to the girls who take part. Our programme is all about opening doors, breaking down stereotypes, and showing girls that they are capable of anything. Seeing their enthusiasm and growth highlighted on such a major platform is really inspiring, and we’re so excited to continue expanding opportunities for even more girls in the months ahead.”
Funded by BBC Children in Need, #NotJustForBoys supports girls aged 12–18 through practical skills workshops, industry insights, and confidence-building activities, helping them envision futures in sectors where women remain underrepresented.
WOMEN’STEC extends their thanks to BBC Children in Need for their continued funding, support and for helping us shine a light on the positive change happening in communities across Northern Ireland.
