WOMEN’STEC are absolutely delighted and incredibly grateful to Community Finance Ireland for the generous donation of ten newly refurbished PCs. These amazing new tools will support women across Northern Ireland to build digital skills, confidence, and career opportunities.

This fantastic initiative was piloted by Nick Heath from Community Finance Ireland, who worked in partnership with MyIT to refurbish and prepare the devices. All laptops are fully set up with Windows 11, giving them a new lease of life and allowing us to use them straight away in our training programmes.

This donation marks an exciting step forward for WOMEN’STEC as we continue to develop and grow our IT and technology offering. The new equipment will allow us to expand our digital skills training, introduce new workshops, and provide hands-on learning opportunities that reflect real-world working environments.

The laptops will support our ongoing work in employability, training, and career pathways for women, particularly those entering non-traditional sectors such as construction, engineering, and IT. Access to the right tools is essential, and this donation helps remove one of the key barriers many women face when starting out on a new career path.

Rachel Miles, Programme Manager for Building Futures, welcomed the donation, saying:

“Access to the right tools can be life-changing. This generous donation from Community Finance Ireland will allow women to build confidence, develop new skills, and see what’s possible for their future. At WOMEN’STEC, we believe in removing barriers to opportunity, and this support will help open doors for many women who may not otherwise have had access to this kind of technology.”

Throughout 2026, WOMEN’STEC is planning to further develop our IT and technology offering. This begins with focusing on beginner-friendly digital skills training, career exploration, and clear progression routes for our students.

WOMEN’STEC would like to say a huge thank you to Nick Heath, Community Finance Ireland, and MyIT for their generosity and support. This donation will make a real difference to the women we work with.
