Margaret Logue

This month we are saying goodbye to our centre director Margaret Logue and it’s hard, she was one of the founding members of the Women’s Centre in 1981.  She is a leader, a force of nature and an absolute feminist in every sense of the word.  If you have visited our beautiful building you will understand how lucky we actually are, Margaret (and a few others) managed to secure funding for us to purchase and renovate this woman only space located in the heart of city.  To do this was no mean feat she wanted a place where women could learn, feel safe, and have access to free childcare.  We have grown exponentially year after year in staff and women, we have formed partnerships with other Women’s organisations, Educational Colleges and created a welcoming space for BAME women to come too as they relocated to the city.  Margaret has always saw the bigger picture, she knew what was needed for the women of this city and how we were going to achieve it.  We have been extremely fortunate to have Margaret at the helm all these years, so saying goodbye to her is as hard as it gets, but knowing her the way we do we know that she will always stay involved in the Women’s sector in one way or another.
