Siobhán continues to attend meetings of Keep the Lifeline to discuss ways in which changes can be made to the social security system to help people through the Cost of Living Crisis.  The focus of the work of Keep the Lifeline is currently on trying to ensure that benefits are uprated in line with inflation rather than earnings.

Siobhán has added the Consortium’s name to a joint letter coordinated by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation to the new Prime Minister Rishi Sunak asking that uprating of benefits is in line with inflation as normal and calling on him to implement the uprating as soon as possible rather than waiting until April next year.
